Charts: Less is more

with Tom Hougaard

Organisers are pleased to present Tom Hougaard – who will be hosting a taster session in the ShowCase Theatre at 12.45 pm followed by a 3-hour session from 2pm to 5pm in the Alsace Room.

Tom Hougaard says, “As I look at my trading platform and the charting package that comes with it, I see some 60 different charting tools. On top of that I have at my disposal Fibonacci, Gann and other esoteric tools to analyse the market.”

“Then I look at my chart. There is not a single indicator on it. There are no lines. There is nothing but the naked chart. Now I look at my P&L. I am plus $35,000 dollars in a Dow short, executed during last night. I am also plus €21,000 euros plus in a DAX short position.” All of this is done using nothing but price action. “Allow me 30 minutes of your time to show you what the essence of trading is, and how piling on numerous indicators on your charts could be detrimental to your trading.”

“If you like what you hear in the 30 minutes, then join me for a 3-hour talk from 2pm until 5pm. In this 3-hour segment, I will go through scores and scores of charts of before and after trades. You will hopefully begin to see trading in a very different light after this session. There is a small charge of £49 for this session, which goes exclusively to the organisers of the event.”
